~Chapter 126~

Amy's pov:

Ava was dropped off by Rachel a few hours later. Dan opened the front door when we heard the doorbell and as soon as Ava saw Dan she jumped into his arms and flung her arms around his neck.

"Hey baby." Dan said laughing and wrapped his own arms around Ava.

Dan walked into the living room with Ava still hanging around his neck, while Rachel followed behind.

"Mummy!" Ava squealed and started squirming so Dan put her down before I was greeted the same way as Dan was by Ava.

Dan made us tea while I sat down on the couch with Rachel and filled her in about the things we'd done together.

"Thank you so much for this." Dan said coming in, carrying three cups of tea.

"It was no problem, I'm glad you two had a good time." Rachel replied taking a mug from Dan.

"I hope Ava and Liz have behaved themselves...?" I said chuckling.

"They were lovely." She replied before telling us what they'd done.

When Rachel went back to Glen, Ava cuddled into me on the couch and asked me to read to her. I took the book from her that she'd taken with her and started reading it to her.

We almost finished it when we were interrupted by Dan calling from the kitchen,

"What are we going to eat?" While looking into a practically empty fridge.

"Are you hungry?" I asked chuckling when he pulled out a cucumber, looking at it before putting it back again.

"Little bit, yeah." He replied and closed the fridge starting on the cupboards for his journey for food.

"I haven't gone grocery shopping yet, so I guess we'll have to order something." I replied before i continued reading to Ava.

Once I finished Ava's book I put it away and made my way to Dan in the kitchen.

"I'm starving." He whined, wrapping his arms around me.

"Let's order something then." I said taking out my phone. He nodded quickly in agreement before he took my phone from me, saying he was going to order pizza.

After we'd eaten, Ava insisted that both me and Dan bring her to bed. Dan lifted her up and placed her on his shoulders before walking up the stairs with me following behind.

I put the bedsheets on her bed and got her pyjama ready while Dan helped her brushing her teeth in the bathroom. Once they were done Ava came racing into her bedroom with Dan following behind. She changed into her pyjamas before she crawled into her bed and got comfy. We chatted for a little while longer until she was almost asleep so we left her bedroom.

After making sure Liz was still sleeping peacefully, we made our way downstairs and cuddled together on the couch.

"I'm glad to be home." Dan said after a while.

"Me too." I replied nodding and turned my head to kiss him on his cheek.

After a few hours, I was barely awake and was lying with my head in Dan's lap.

"I'm going to bed." I said rubbing my face before sitting up.

"I'll join you in a while, I want to finish this song idea first." He replied before kissing me goodnight.

I made my way upstairs and got ready for bed. I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow cause I didn't notice Dan coming to bed.

I woke up hours later cause I had to go to the toilet. I threw the covers back and sat up, realizing that I was still alone in bed. Confused, I looked at the alarm clock and realized that it was already 3.30 AM. I got out of the bedroom and realized that the lights were still on downstairs. I quickly went to the toilet before making my way downstairs into the living room.

When I walked in, I found Dan sitting at the kitchen table. Sheets of paper with words scribbled on them lay scattered around the table, his guitar was leaning against the leg of the table while he was typing away on his laptop.

"Are you still working?" I asked, causing him to jump slightly before he turned around.

"Yeah." He replied nodding before focusing back on his laptop.

I walked up to him and ran my hands through his messy hair once I stood behind him.

"Come to bed, you need sleep as well." I said while he leaned his head back against my chest.

"I know but-"

"-This can wait until later." I interrupted him, moving my hands to his shoulders and massaged him lightly. He removed his hands from the keyboard of his laptop for a moment and I noticed a yawn escaping his mouth.

"See, you're tired." I said and leaned over to close his laptop.

To my surprise, he didn't even fight back and simply stood up. He took my outstretched hand and let me guide him upstairs. I closed our bedroom door behind us and crawled back into bed while Dan undressed himself.

Once his clothes were off, he got into bed next to me and pulled me close to him. I got comfortable snuggled into his chest ready to fall back asleep when Dan suddenly asked,

"Would you want a third child?"

"I-I don't know...? You?" I replied, slightly taken aback by his question cause I did not expect it at all.

"Yeah." He replied and I felt him nodding. I pulled back slightly so I could look at him and I found him looking down at me.

"I'd love to have a boy as well." He continued.

"Danny, you do know that we won't know if we'll get a boy or not if we'd get another child, right?"

"I know." He replied nodding.

"And if we'd get another girl, would you then want a fourth child cause we still haven't got a boy?"

"Dunno." He replied shrugging.

"But I wouldn't mind having a third girl either." He added.

"Do you think you'd want a third child with me, somewhere in the future?" He asked again.

"If I want it, it'll be in the future for sure..."

"Cause I don't think I can take the heartache of losing another baby if the pregnancy goes wrong again..." I said, looking away from him.

"You said it yourself, if it goes wrong. You know that's just a small chance, right?" He replied, placing his fingers under my chin forcing me to look at him.

"I know but-"

"-Good." He said cutting me off by kissing me softly on my lips.

"I'm not asking you to decide right now, I'm asking you to think about it." He said when he pulled away.

"I'll think about it." I replied nodding.

He smiled before leaning down and kissing me again.
