Amy's pov:

I woke up from Danny gently trying to untangle himself from my limbs.

"What are you doing?" I mumbled, still half asleep.

"I just can't sleep." He replied, sounding pretty much awake.

"Are you thinking about that woman again?" I asked as I sat up.

The last two days has been spent pretty much at the police station. They keep asking both of us questions and keep looking through my phone. They did go to Bryan's house to arrest him, but he's gone MIA. Ever since that day, Dan seems off. He barely sleeps or eats and I know it's because of the woman he found pretty much bleeding to death in Bryan's living room. I know it's affecting him more than he wants me to know.

"Yeah..." He answered while I turned the light on my bedside table on.

"Come here to me." I said opening my arms. Dan crawled back onto the bed towards me and settled against me. I wrapped my arms around him while he rested his head against my chest.

"Did the police tell her you anything about her?" He asked after a few moments of silence.

"No." I replied, wishing I could tell him they did.

"I don't even know her name. How come it's bothering me so much?" He sighed frustrated.

"You know why Dan. And that's completely normal." I replied, knowing that he knows damn well why it's bothering him.

He didn't say anything in reply, but I know that he'd heard what I said, and that he was silently agreeing. Even though he might not want to admit it.

We sat in silence for a while until I moved slightly until we were lying again. Dan still had his head on my chest and I was stroking through his hair until I eventually dropped off to sleep.

When I woke up again, I was alone. I could see lights coming through the gap in between the curtains so I decided it was time to get up. As I walked down the stairs I found Dan in the hall shrugging his coat on.

"Are you going somewhere?" I asked as our eyes met.

"Yeah, I'll be back in about an hour." He replied.

"Have you had breakfast?" I asked as I looked at him, noticing his pale complexion and the bags under his eyes.

"No, but I'll grab something on my way." He replied, even though we both knew he wouldn't. I nodded my head anyway and kissed his cheek before he walked out of the door.

I made my way to the kitchen to make breakfast. I flicked the kettle on first and as I waited for the water to boil I looked out of the window and saw Dan walking down the street. He didn't tell me where he was going, so I assumed he didn't want me to know. But I trust him to not do anything stupid. And I'm pretty sure he'll tell me afterwards.

An hour and a half later I heard my phone ringing. I grabbed it from the kitchen counter and saw that it was Emma, a colleague when I worked as a nurse.

"Hi." I said slightly surprised that she'd called me, since we hadn't spoken in quite a long time.

"Hey. Danny is here and he just fainted, can you pick him up please?" She asked, immediately getting to the point.

"Is he OK?" I asked worried.

"He's fine. But I think it's better if you pick him up instead of letting him go home on his own." She replied.

"I'm on my way." I said before hanging up.

I quickly grabbed my keys before jumping in my car and making my way to the hospital. Just as I arrived I got a text from Emma telling me where to go. I followed her instructions and a few minutes later I walked into a room where I found Both Danny and Emma.

"What happened?" Was the first thing I asked as I walked in.

"I was walking down the hall when I saw him. Just before we passed each other he fainted. But don't worry, I checked him over completely and he probably fainted due to a low blood pressure." Emma explained when Danny stayed silent.

"Are you OK?" I asked while I took Dan's hand in mine.

"I'm fine." He replied shrugging.

"What were you doing here?" I asked when I realized Emma said he was walking down the corridor here.

"I needed to know who the woman was I found in Bryan's house and how she was doing. So I went to the police and asked for her name and to which hospital she was taken..." He said as his eyes met mine.

"And?" I asked as I saw his eyes glazing over with tears.

"She was called Olivia." He said before swallowing hard.

"Was?" I whispered.

"She died." He said and bit down on his bottom lip.

I let go of his hands and wrapped my arms around him instead, pulling him close to me.

"I'll leave you two alone." Emma said smiling sympathetically before leaving the room.

"Maybe I could have saved her. Maybe I..." He said while his whole body was shaking.

"You did everything you could. You called an ambulance and you tried to stop the bleeding. There was nothing more you could do." I said as I pulled away slightly so I could look at him as I said those words.

"OK?" I asked again when he didn't reply.

He nodded his head slowly before sighing deeply and wiping the sleeve of his sweater over his cheeks to dry them.

"Shall we go home?" I asked once he seemed to have calmed down a bit.

"Yeah." He said nodding before standing up.

I took his hand in mine while we walked towards the car.

Once we arrived home Dan sat down at the table while I went to the kitchen to make him a sandwich.

"I'm not really hungry." He said as I placed the plate in front of him.

"But you have to eat. You barely ate anything over the last few days and that's one of the reasons you fainted." I said, knowing it was also because he was just told Olivia didn't make it, which hit him hard.

He gave in and started eating his sandwich slowly.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked once he was finished.

"Not really." He replied, running a hand through his hair.

"Sure?" I asked, not wanting him to bottle it up.

"At least not now." He answered while I placed my hand on top of his, which was lying on the table. I looked at him for a few more moments before nodding. I lifted his hand from the table and squeezed it softly before pressing a kiss on the back of his hand.
