Danny's pov:
After I had my shower and got dressed I walked downstairs where I found Am emptying her bag on the table. She was looking through the things that had fallen out before holding her bag upside down once again to see if everything was out.
"What are you doing?" I asked her when I passed her on my way to the kitchen.
"I can't find my wallet." She replied looking puzzled before going through her stuff once again.
"You sure it was in that bag?" I asked, knowing how many bags and purses she has, so I wouldn't be able to remember in which one I'd put my wallet either...
"Yes. This was the one I had with me to work yesterday and I've not taken it out since." She said while I poured myself a cup of coffee.
"Bryan!" She said suddenly, and stopped looking through her stuff lying on the table.
"What?" I asked not following her.
"It must have fallen out of my bag at his house or something." She replied, meeting my eyes. I nodded my head slowly, realizing she was probably right.
"I'll go get it. I don't want you to go there anymore." I told her sternly.
"Okay." She said agreeing immediately without arguing.
"Good." I replied, wrapping one arm around her before pulling her into me and pressing a kiss against the top of her head.
I finished my coffee before I put my shoes on and grabbed my keys.
"I'll be back in about an hour." I said to Am before leaving the house.
As I was on my way to Bryan's house I was thinking of a way I could get Am's wallet back without getting in a fight with Bryan. Both verbal and physical.
Once I arrived at his house I saw that the front door was opened just a crack, but I decided to ring the doorbell anyway. Not sure he'd appreciate it if I'd just walk into his house. After I rang the doorbell I waited a few moments but nobody came to open the door so I rang again.
When still nobody came to open the door I decided to let myself in.
"Hello?" I called out once I was standing in the corridor. There came no reply, but I did hear someone breathing. Ragged breathing. And not the bedroom kind of ragged breathing...
I cautiously made my way to the door which lead to the living room. The room where I thought I heard this sound coming from. I knocked on the door before I opened it.
I was met by a sight that made me want to throw up.
A woman was lying naked on the living room floor. More dead than alive. A smashed bottle was lying next to her and there was blood everywhere.
"Oh my god." I heard myself saying, my own voice sounding strange to me.
A few seconds later I snapped back into reality and got my phone out calling an ambulance, telling them to hurry. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed the two tea towels I found lying on the counter before running back to this woman.
I dropped down on my knees next to her and pressed the towel against the cuts on her neck where she'd obviously been stabbed. Or cut. I don't know what Bryan's done to this girl, and I don't know if I want to know either. But he made a mess of her body.
"It's going to be OK. Hold on. Help is on its way." I found myself saying. Not sure if I was trying to reassure the woman or myself. As I talked to her her eyes slowly moved to look up at me, indicating that she did hear me and maybe even realized what I was saying. Which is a good thing I guess. Suddenly she started making noises which sounded like the was choking to me. I felt myself starting to panic, not knowing what to do. Not sure if I should roll her onto her side because of her bleeding neck.
Thank god I didn't have to make a decision cause I heard the ambulance stop in front of the house and a few seconds later paramedics came running in. I stepped aside letting them to their job.
I didn't realize how badly I was shaking until a paramedic turned to me and asked,
"Are you alright?" While the other paramedics wheeled the stretcher with the woman on it outside.
"Y-yeah.. I'm fine..." I replied and was about to run my hand through my hair until I noticed that they were covered in blood.
Once the paramedics were gone, I suddenly wanted to get away from here as quick as possible. As I walked out of the living room I somehow still noticed Am's wallet lying on the floor. I quickly picked it up before leaving the house, running home.
"Are you alright? You look incredibly pale." Am asked worried when I walked into the living room.
"I... I think Bryan killed someone..." I said, slowly sitting down at the table.
"What do you mean?" Am asked, her voice shaking with fear.
"I found this woman and she... There was so much blood." I replied, struggling to think straight. I looked up at Am who had her hands clamped over her mouth, her eyes wide with shock. I heard the front door open and shut before I heard footsteps. I tore my gaze away from Am and saw Mark walking in.
"Hey Da- what's going on?" He said, cutting himself off mid sentence when he noticed our expressions.
"Bryan... Dan thinks he killed someone." Am said when I didn't answer.
"What?" I said, obviously shocked as well. Mark was the only one I told about all the things that were going on with Bryan. Mostly because he noticed something was off and forced me to tell him. He advised me to go to the police, but I didn't want to go because of his threats about Ava. Now I'm doubting if I made the right decision.
"You need to go to the police. Now." He said before throwing my coat at me. Am and I followed him outside to his car where we got in. Am and I were sitting in the back while Mark was driving. I was looking out of the window until Am handed me her phone. I gave her a puzzled look but before I could ask anything she said,
"There's evidence on there. His threats. A video. The police needs to see it."
I nodded dumbly, only half registering everything that was going on. I took her phone and slipped it into my pocket before taking Am's hand in my shaking ones, squeezing it softly.
