Warning for mentions of an anxiety attack, plenty of crying and sadness in this one (it was supposed to be a lot more emotional but I failed so...... it's just hurt/comfort fluff)

Logan woke up early as usual, getting up and changing into his usual clothing. He decided to check his phone before doing anything else, finding many texts from Virgil that he had received at around four in the morning. He read over them, breath catching in his throat.

Virgil: Logan, could you come to my room

Virgil: Logan please

Virgil: I can't breathe. I need your help please

The final text was sent an hour after the others, at around five.

Virgil: sorry if I bothered you. I'm sure you've been asleep. Don't worry about me.

Despite what Virgil had said, Logan was very worried. He needed Logan, and Logan hadn't been there for him. He felt something eating away at him-what emotion it was he didn't know, and it didn't matter. What mattered was that he had failed Virgil, and he needed to go and check on him. What if he still wasn't okay? He sent Virgil a text as he made his way out of his room.

Logan: I am on my way to your room. I apologize for not responding before now.

He moved as quickly as he could, standing at Virgil's door and knocking on it. He stood back to wait for a response, hearing shuffling behind the door. It took a moment, but at last the door swung open, revealing the dark trait.

Virgil looked horrible. His hair was a mess, most likely due to him pulling at it and running his hands through it because of his nerves, and his eyes were red and puffy from crying. There were still trails of tears down his cheeks, and when he spoke his voice cracked.

"You didn't have to come." He muttered, sniffing and wiping his nose on his hoodie sleeve. "I'm sorry for sending you so many texts while you were sleeping."

"You are not the one who should be apologizing." Logan told him, shaking his head. "I am sorry. You needed me, and I... I was not there for you."

Virgil didn't say anything, looking down at his feet and sniffling again. Logan saw more tears fall to the ground, and felt a strange pain in his chest. He did not like seeing Virgil this way.

"Is there..." Logan started, pausing to clear his throat. "Is there anything I can do..? To help you?"

Virgil looked up at him, still crying, slowly opening up his arms to silently ask for a hug. Logan was hesitant, not used to physical contact of any kind, but decided he would do it for Virgil. He stepped carefully forward, letting Virgil wrap his arms around him and returning the embrace awkwardly. Virgil hid his face in Logan's shoulder, Logan not caring one bit as he got his shirt wet with tears.

They stood quietly for a while, holding each other while Virgil cried. After a while his tears stopped, and it was completely silent between them.

"I... know I keep saying this, but I am truly sorry for not being here for you earlier." Logan broke the silence, still holding the dark trait close to him, his head resting on top of the others. Virgil shrugged.

"You're here now, right?" He mumbled, closing his eyes as he leaned heavily into Logan. "That's what matters. Thank you for coming to help me."
