Requested. This is an AU, and also the last oneshot before I start a new oneshots book! Also, sorry this is kinda short. I tried my best to make it as long as possible, buut...

Working the night shift at a grocery store hardly anyone went to was pretty boring a lot of the time. Logan, who had been the last of the four of them to get the job, had truly wanted to be as professional as possible while he worked there but it only took a week before even he accepted that it was pointless to just stand and wait on customers that would never come. So, he had given in and joined Patton, Virgil, and Roman in slacking off and hanging out during their work hours instead.

Most of the time they did simple things to pass the tine, such as simply chatting throughout the night or playing card games like Uno. If a customer did come in to find them playing, it was something much easier to hide and make themselves seem more professional. Logan was fine with this, after all they could be doing much worse.

However, when Roman brought in nerf guns to work he was not easily convinced into joining them.

"Come on, Logan! It'll be fun." Roman whined, trying to shove the nerf gun(which he had crossed out the letter 'F' on and replaced to spell 'nerd' instead, just for Logan) into his hands while Logan refused.

"I mean really, the only time we've ever gotten customers during our shift is around the holidays. It's not like anyone will walk in and see us." Virgil pointed out. Virgil usually wasn't one to take risks in situations, and aside from Logan was often the one to point out what could go wrong, but since he had this job the longest he had given up on caring about actually seeming professional.

"We have no way of knowing that no one is going to come in! What if while we're all running around the store like children someone walk in, and none of us are at the counter to help them?" Logan pointed out, although he knew his arguing was probably pointless. None of his friends and coworkers cared about this as much as he did.

"Just one game, Logan?" Patton asked, looking at him like a kicked puppy, and Logan knew he was done for. He could never refuse Patton, especially when he looked like that. It was times like these that he cursed his silly crush on the boy.

"Fine," he sighed, taking the nerf gun from Roman's hands begrudgingly. "We better not get caught."

"Awesome!" Roman cheered, and launched into explaining the rules of their nerf battle.

Logan was hiding in the back of the store, covered on two sides by a parallel set of short shelves. He was walking forwards slowly, peering carefully around both sides to make sure it was clear. Surprisingly, he was actually managing to have a good time playing this game. He had already managed to shoot Virgil once-he had surprised him from behind, which made Virgil run off and thankfully not retaliate against him with more bullets. He still had to be hit two more times to officially be out, but Logan was happy with himself for managing to hit anyone in the first place.

Just as Logan was beginning to step forward to try and find someone else, he heard something fall from behind him. He whirled around, gun aiming where he heard the noise, and found Patton standing there with a fallen box of cereal on the ground beside of him.

Patton, clearly panicked at being caught, ducked behind the shelf as he shouted out. "Friend or foe?"

Logan blinked at the question, not realizing that it was an option to form teams in this game. He thought over his answer for a moment, small, fond smile gracing his lips. He shot back at him with a different question. "Boyfriend?"

Patton's face appeared once more around the shelf, curious expression set on it. He took a moment to gauge whether or not Logan was being serious before a smile of his own appeared. "That would be nice."

The both of them stood for a moment, silence settling over them as they took in what had just happened. Certainly neither of them were unhappy with this turn of events, but it was unexpected. They were both shocked out of their thoughts by the loud beeping of the intercom in the store, Virgil's voice ringing through. "Attention nonexistent shoppers, would someone kindly remind the lovebirds on aisle three that we are in the middle of a nerf gun battle. Thank you, we are glad that you have not chosen to shop here, goodnight."

The message ended, and Logan and Patton both laugh quietly. They shared soft smiles a moment longer before Patton's lips tugged further up into a grin, eyes lighting up mischievously.

"So, wanna team up to get Roman and Virgil out?"

Logan offered a hand to help Patton up from his crouched position on the floor behind the shelf. "Of course."

I hope you enjoyed this!! Sorry for taking a bit to get around to it.

I also apologize to everyone else if I'm bad at answering comments/messages or just in general being active here for the next week, I'm currently on vacation. I still plan to update HHS on Wednesday's, but otherwise am probably gonna stay off here so I can spend time with family. Sorry for that!

Hopefully my plan to start uploading daily once I get home makes up for my bad posting recently. I'm really really hoping to actually keep up with that, as writing daily used to be so easy for me but not too long ago became sort of a chore. I haven't been feeling that way recently, so I plan to try my best! Writing truly does make me happy, so I want to do a lot of it and I hope you'll enjoy reading it if I can actually manage to do it.

Anyways, thanks so much for reading! I am going to post a part after this one announcing the third oneshots book, since I'm running out of room here and don't want people who don't read these at the end to not know about the new book! It will be posted tonight, although it's only going to have a short introductory sort of post for now, but hopefully a new oneshot will be added soon! Remember, take good care of yourselves. *a puppy leads you to a pile of ring pops, 11 other puppies, and all of the sides* thanks to SpoopyDoggo for the ring pop suggestion. The screenshot of the comment wouldn't load bc I don't have internet, so I'm actually just writing the name instead. Love you guys. Bye!-Bob
