If you told Damien a month ago, that he would find love at a Dude Ranch of all places, he would have laughed and called you crazy. But, after his best friend/brother, and business partner Ian brought him to a Dude Ranch for a surprise vacation, that's where he met the man he fell hard for Shayne, one of the cowboys that lived there. Shayne was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. Shayne though hated people from the city who came to their ranch to be weekend cowboys, who he called Cityslickers. Shayne refused to have any kind of contact with Damien or Ian the whole time they were at the ranch, but Damien had refused to give up. Finally, Damien got Shayne to go on a horseback ride with him, and on that ride, Shayne had ended up hurt after falling off his horse, and at the hospital, they both finally confessed their feelings and kissed.

They became a couple and Shayne even became friends with Ian. Three days after Shayne was released from the hospital, it was time for Damien and Ian to return home. Neither wanted to leave, but had no choice, so Damien tried to convince Shayne to come with them and spend a couple of weeks in the city. Shayne refused, but promised to call every day and they left. A week after they left, Shayne missed them; especially Damien, and since his leg was broken and he wasn't able to do his work around the ranch, he decided to surprise them by going to the city. He packed a bag and told Courtney where he was going, before he got into his truck and drove off.

He arrived in the city and immediately got lost, so after driving around aimlessly for a while he stopped and got directions. He finally found their office building, and got out; he was amazed at the size of the building and went inside. He went to the secretary and asked for Damien and Ian. After she hesitated, unsure who this strange man was, he told her he'd find them himself, before he walked away with her following trying to stop him. The entire office stared at him because of the way he was dressed. He finally found their office and knocked before going in. Damien and Ian were busy with clients and were surprised to see him.

"Shayne?" Damien said, as he stood and went to Shayne and hugged him, before Ian hugged him too.

"Hey, baby, hey, Ian." Shayne greeted them smiling.

"What are you doing here?" Damien asked smiling.

"Surprise! I came here for a little vacation." Shayne answered happily.

"It's great to see you, cowboy, but we're at work." Damien said.

"Damien, why don't you go talk to Shayne, while I finish up with our clients?" Ian suggested smiling.

Damien took Shayne to another room and kissed him, before he suggested he go to Damien's place to get settled and wait for them. At first, Shayne said it was okay, he'd just wait here for them, but Damien told him he'd be more comfortable at his place, and after work the three of them would do whatever Shayne wanted to do. So, Shayne agreed and took Damien's keys, and left.

**Days Later**:

As the days passed, Shayne struggled to adjust to being in the city. He loved being with Damien and Ian, but now that they were in the city, Damien seemed...different. Whenever they went out, Damien always drove, he never let Shayne pay for anything; which bugged him, but he said nothing. Then, Damien started buying Shayne new clothes that weren't his style, they were more city and he hated that too. He began to feel like Damien was embarrassed by him and that hurt. Damien was oblivious to Shayne's unhappiness and hurt, he was so wrapped up in having Shayne with him, but Ian noticed and knew if he didn't stop Damien something bad was going to happen.

One day, Damien and Ian returned to Damien's house after work to find Shayne dressed in his regular clothes; complete with his cowboy hat, sitting on the couch.

"Hey, babe, why aren't you wearing the clothes I bought you?" Damien asked.

"Dames, are you embarrassed by me?" Shayne asked seriously, as he stood.

"No, of course not. Why would you think that?"

"Ever since I got here besides Ian, I haven't met any of your friends or the people you work with. You won't let me drive my truck, or pay for anything, and you've bought me all these new clothes." Shayne stated.

"Besides Ian, I don't have any other friends. I haven't taken you to the office because I thought you'd find it boring." Damien said in his defense.

"Boring? Oh, that's right, I'm just a stupid cowboy. Too stupid to understand what your job is. So, why the new clothes, huh?" Shayne demanded.

"I thought you'd be more at home if you..."

"Looked more like you?" Shayne asked upset, cutting him off.

"Yes! What's wrong with that?" Damien asked.

"What's wrong, Damien, is the fact that you're trying to change me. This is who I' am, and I'm not going to change. Being here made me realize that I'll never fit into your Cityslicker world. I care a lot about you Damien, but this...we were a mistake." Shayne said upset, as he got up and hugged Ian, before he picked up his bag and walked to the door. "I never tried to change you. Goodbye, Damien." He said, before he left.

Once he was gone, Damien sat down on the couch; he was hurt and confused by their breakup, he had no idea what he did wrong.

"What was that about?" Damien asked upset.

"Dames, he's right." Ian said gently, as he sat beside him.

 "What?"

"Dames, you're my brother, and I love you, but ever since Shayne got here you've made him feel like he's not good enough for you the way he is." Ian explained gently. "You wouldn't let him pay for anything and bought him a whole new wardrobe, which basically told him that he's not good enough."

"No, I...I just screwed up the best thing that ever happened to me. Dammit, what am I going to do, Ian?" Damien said, tears in his eyes.

"Simple, dude, go after your cowboy, Damien, make him understand that you never meant to hurt him." Ian answered.

 "Do you think it'll work?"

"Only one way to find out." Ian said hugging Damien, before he got up and left.

As soon as he was alone, Damien paced the room, he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. He needed to fix things, he had to show Shayne that he's the most important person in his life; besides Ian, and that he was perfect exactly the way he is. It won't be easy, Shayne was stubborn, but so was Damien, and he refused to let Shayne walk out of his damn life; especially with him thinking that he wasn't good enough for him. The truth was, Damien wasn't good enough for Shayne. He rushed to his room and packed a bag, before he quickly left his house. He locked his door, then got into his car and drove away; he'd do whatever it took to get his cowboy back!
