Damien sat outside in his backyard, drinking a beer trying to drown his heartache. He sighed shakily, as he stared up at the night sky, he had screwed up and lost the man he loved. He was waiting for Shayne to come over so they could go to dinner. As he waited, he thought back to when this whole mess began. It's been two weeks now since the incident at the garage, and Damien's heart was still broken; it would stay broken until he finally had Ian to love. His thoughts were interrupted by Shayne arriving and coming outside.
"Hey, Dames." Shayne greeted him, as he sat in the lawn chair beside him.
"Hey, Shayne."
"You doing alright?"
"Nope." Damien replied sighing, as he took a drink of his beer.
"He's hurting too." Shayne said gently.
"He is?" He asked quietly, as he looked at Shayne.
"Yep, but the stubborn ass won't talk to even me about it." Shayne answered frustrated.
"Shayne, what am I going to do? I...I still love him, but he won't let me in."
"Just give him time, Damien, this is all new to him. He's never had someone love him unconditionally like you do." Shayne said, before he hugged him.
"Thanks, Shayne, I love you."
"Anytime, and I love you too. Come on, let's go out and get your mind off of Ian." Shayne suggested, as he put a hand on Damien's shoulder and squeezed it gently.
**A Month Later**:
Ian finished the brakes on his last customer of the day's car and headed into the break room for a coffee before he went home. It's been two months since he told Damien; the man he was in love with, to forget him and move on and it still ripped apart. He knew he had made the right decision letting Damien go, knowing he'd only hurt him and he loved Damien too much to do that to him. He had never been in love before and had no idea how to be someone's boyfriend. He wanted Damien, wanted to love him, but couldn't risk hurting him like he knew he would. Of course, Shayne wasn't making things easier by constantly trying to talk about Damien and what happened. He loved his brother, but Ian didn't want to talk about it, which always ended up with them fighting. His thoughts were interrupted by Shayne coming into the break room, Ian sighed waiting for him to bring up Damien.
"Hey, Ian." Shayne greeted him smiling.
"Hey, Shayne."
"You finish the brakes on that convertible?" Shayne asked, as he poured himself a coffee, before he sat across from Ian.
"Just finished, you get that engine done yet on that truck?"
"I just have one more thing to check then I'm done." Shayne answered sighing. "You wanna go get a beer?"
"Just a beer?" Ian questioned smirking, as he took a drink of his coffee, Shayne rolled his eyes sighing.
"Yes, Ian, just a beer! I'm tired of fighting with you, dude."
"Okay, pick me up at eight." Ian answered smiling.
**Later**:
Ian finished getting ready to go out, he needed this night out to forget all his problems. He hoped Shayne kept his word and didn't bring Damien up; he needed just one night to forget about his broken heart. He had just finished putting his jacket and boots on, when Shayne came in.
