The Rancher's Son Pt11 (Ian/Shayne)

 Ian sat on his bed, his back against the headboard, and his right leg; which was in a cast, was propped up on a pillow. He sighed happily, his life was slowly returning to normal after a few weeks of chaos and heartache. And it all revolved around Damien and Shayne. Thinking of them always made happy, but right now he was also extremely nervous, because, in a few hours, his brothers would be joining his family for dinner. He ran his hands over his face, as he began to think about everything that's happened between the three of them that led to dinner tonight. Ian's mother insisted he go to his room and rest for a while before dinner, knowing there was no point in arguing with her, he went. He's been in his room now for a couple of hours, and the closer it got to dinner, the more nervous he became. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at his door, he called out to the person to enter and seconds later, the door opened and both his brothers came into the room smiling, seeing them he smiled too.

 "Don't you two have work to do? I'm not paying you to sit on your asses, you know." Ian teased, still smiling.

 "You don't pay us, your parents do." Damien replied smiling, before all three laughed.

 "We just stopped by to hang out with you before dinner and your mommy told us that you were resting." Shayne teased, as they laughed again. "We didn't know it was wittle Ian-poo's naptime."

 "Ha, ha, Topp." Ian said smiling, before he threw his pillow at him, Shayne caught it before it could hit his face and threw it back at Ian. "Guys, I...I know dinner with Ben and my parents isn't exactly a fun night, but I really am glad you guys are coming."

 "We're only coming because you want us there." Damien replied. "Speaking of dinner, did Benny tell you why it's so special?"

 "Nope, but it probably has something to do with money; it always does with him." Ian answered sighing.

 "We should go, but we'll see you at seven." Shayne said smiling.

 "Don't worry, Ian, I'll make sure Shayne's on his best behavior." Damien said, making them laugh again.

 "Thanks, Dames." Ian replied smiling. "You manage that, and I'll make sure you get a big raise, dude." He added, making all three laugh.

 "Hey, I resent that!" Shayne stated, faking his hurt.

 "Come on, Shayne-O, let's go get ready." Damien said smiling, as he started walking to the door, Shayne followed. "See ya later, man."

 "Enjoy nappy time, Ian-poo!" Shayne teased, before he quickly left the room laughing, followed by a laughing Damien.

**Later**:

 Shayne sighed, as he looked at hisreflection in the mirror, he began messing around with the collar of hisscratchy, stiff, and incredibly uncomfortable new dress shirt.His whole outfit was new and he hated it;Damien had taken him into town earlier to buy him something decent towear to dinner after he discovered that Shayne didn't ownanything other than jeans and t-shirts. After what felt like a damn eternity,Damien had finally decided on a long-sleeved, white dress shirtand black dress pants. Shayne refused to get the damn dressshoes, and after an argument in which he had threatened to show up naked todinner if Damien didn't stop, his brother had agreed to lethim wear his own shoes. He sighed again, as he sat down on theedge of his bed, he was nervous about tonight, but it wasn't becauseof Ian's intimidating parents, no, it was because he knew thatthat stuck-up, piece of shit Ben was up to something. He ranhis hands over his face, as he thought about his life and everything that'shappened to him over the past few weeks. After hanging out with Ian for a little while, they had come back here to get ready, Shayne showered first, and Damien was in the shower now, leaving Shayne alone with his thoughts. He was interrupted by Damien coming out of the bathroom dressed, seeing him, Damien spoke sighing.
