This is my first Okumura oneshot so I'm a bit worried...especially about getting his character down
But anyways, hope you have fun reading and stay safe!

"So let me get this straight, you answered back to a senpai?" You ask for the nth time as Seto tries to calm you down
"It hasn't even been a whole month! Dude, how much trouble can you get into?" You scold Okumura who clicks his tongue and looks away
"He was really annoying." He replies
"Still..." You trail off sighing, "He's that senior right? The pitcher? What if you have to catch for him? What if he ends up holding a grudge against you?"
Okumura stiffens and continues to look away, he hates to admit it but just like Miyuki, you have a point
"Don't worry! (First name) I'll make sure to stop them if they ever get into some kind of brawl," Taku reassures you as you sigh and pat his head
"Thank god for you Taku," You continue to ruffle his hair as he grins
"Koshuu, I can get that you have the tendency to dislike the louder players but you should understand that you're in a team with like 90 members...you should know that everybody has different personalities and you should still somehow respect everybody in there." You cross your arms, "Do you understand me?"
"Yeah, I get it." He mutters as you sigh
"Well besides that point, you should eat...don't give me that look." You reprimand Okumura
"I'm still full from the breakfast earlier,"
"Breakfast is that lunch is this."
"Yeah but—"
"No buts."
He opens his mouth but closes it again, opting to eat lunch slowly and quietly
"Oh oh aren't they people from your team?" You ask him as you spot Masashi and Yui
"...Taku?" You turn to Seto when Okumura didn't answer you
"Oh yeah! They're the first years who managed to land themselves a spot on the bench!"
"Oh seriously? Then you'll be playing alongside each other in the future?" You look at both of them in excitement
"We still aren't in the first string," Seto points out while you scoff
"Give it a few months and you'll be part of the main team!" You give them a thumbs up
"That still isn't final." Okumura says, looking up from his food, "Don't jinx it."
"I'm not." You cross your arms, "I'm just saying that you two are both talented in baseball and hard-working, if you continue with your pace then you'll get yourselves your own number."
'As expected of (First name)-chan, Koshu actually somehow listens to her, it's a good thing she joined us here in Seido.' Seto thinks, eating his lunch while you and Okumura argue
"Fine! I won't say anything about the first string! Can I invite them because we're in the same year and you're in the same team?" You pout in defeat as Okumura sighs
"Do what you want," Okumura sighs as you cheer, standing up, already dashing towards the other two first years
"She has a point," Seto points out but Okumura remains silent, stealing glances at you as you talk to the other two animatedly

"I'm back!" You announce, clapping your hands to get Okumura's attention
"I also found these other three!" You beam and motion for Asahi, Kuki, and Mogami, "They're also in the team right? Then since you guys are most likely going to work together for 3 years, let's get to know each other!"
'Oh, Okumura doesn't seem to dislike her.'
'Wo-won't Okumura-kun get angry?' Asahi panics, remembering what happened with Okumura and Sawamura
'She's right, it would be good if we got along.'
'I'm hungry.' Masashi's stomach grumbles loudly
"Sorry if I talked too much, then should we eat?" You offer them to sit as everybody sat down
'As expected of (First name).' Seto thinks, looking around the table in amusement, now he's starting to worry about what would happen if you meet the rest of the team...he has no doubt you'll manage to befriend them
You kick Okumura under the table softly, making him look up at you
"You okay?" You mouth, "Sorry...if I'm pushing it." You continue, finally calming down from your excitement and remembering that Okumura isn't much of a fan of noise
Okumura sighs, "Don't worry, I don't mind...besides your right," He answers as you beam which causes the corners of his mouth to twitch up
