The reader's amputation is Transtibial amputation which is an amputation below the knee

You stand in the bullpen and watch Tanba and Kawakami pitch as Chris looks after Sawamura and Furuya who were practicing their fielding
"How was that?" Tanba asks you when the ball hit the mitt
"Nice ball, Tanba-san, you seem fired up," You comment
'So the possibilities of the ace spot being taken did lit a fire under you, Tanba-senpai." You think, smirking lightly
"Nori-senpai, you didn't fully swing your arm," You say sharply at Kawakami who nods, sweat running down the side of his face
You continue watching them pitch, taking notes about their forms and how it changes, the power of their pitch, and how long they can last since the summer training camp started

"(First name), the coach said he wanted to talk to you." A fellow first-year says as you nod, changing your direction towards the cafeteria to the coach's office instead
"You called for me, Uncle Tesshin?" You ask, peeking your head through the door
"Come in," He says, as you open the door wider and walk inside, and wait for a few minutes when it suddenly hit you
"It's not about the pitchers, isn't it?" You ask him, crossing your arms over your chest
"It's not."
"It's about the leg," you finish as he nods
"Your father wanted to know how you were doing," he says softly, looking at you
'This question again, since the accident happened, everyone keeps on asking me this question!' You sigh mentally
"I'm fine, please tell him that." You answer
"He also asked if you managed to get a new one,"
"Couldn't he call me himself?" You mumble as Kataoka frowns upon hearing what you said
"I did, really couldn't they do something? This is the third one already." You motion for your leg
"You know it's necessary," (It is actually, you have to change it every three years.. or so the website says)
"But are you really fine?" He asks, making you sigh
"Yes, please tell dad tha—"
"He wasn't the one that asked that, I did." He cuts you off making you close your mouth
"If you really are fine, then why did you only join as a manager?" He asks you making you gulp
You love your uncle, he was like your second father, he was the one who taught you how to play and love baseball and never looked at you as if you were a glass about to break, but since you denied playing again, he's been asking you why and you didn't want to tell him
