Roman

I wait in the lobby for hours, as I wait to hear what is happening with Nikki. My parents have called me multiple times, probably trying to figure out where we were, but I just can't bring myself to answer the phone.

I just ate my last bag of chips I got from the vending machine when my friend who took Nikki in the back, starts to walk my way. I am trying to read his face, but nothing comes from it. " How is she?" I ask as I stand up to meet him. Without saying anything he just frowns, I can only think the worse.

I go past him and try to find the room number. I remember him yelling room number 305 earlier, so I decide to look in that area. It's not long when I see nurses surrounding Nikki. " Nicole!" I shout as I walk into the room. She looks up with tears in her eyes, and a reddish face. I instantly give her a hug, because without hearing a single word, I know that we have lost our baby.

"The baby was one month." Nikki says as she starts and cries more. " I'm so stupid." She screams. I don't know what to do or say, so I just let her naturally react. " It was that house show that I think did it."

" Don't blame your self." I tell her as I attempt to calm her down by rubbing her head. It works for a few seconds before, she looks at me and start to cry.

" I am so sorry I let you down. I'm so sorry I lost your baby."

Her words bring tears to my eyes, and I start to cry along with her.  " You didn't let me down. These things happened."

She then looks at me with such anger. " Roman, I killed our child." She yells.

" No, you didn't." I say bringing in her in for another hug.

" Roman, I don't know how to live anymore. I feel so numb, I have no appetite."

" I feel the same way, but we will get through this." I tell her. " But let's get out of here. You shouldn't be here any longer." I tell her, it's as if she can hear me but refuse to move. So I sign her out and wheel her out of the hospital in a wheelchair.

Once we arrived at my parent's house, Nikki opens her car door first. " Please, don't tell no one. I am embarrassed." She ask of me.

" Of course."
