Part 4

Ragnarok!  The word still bounced around in Loki's head as he wrestled with the chains.  Mand'e had left him, saying that she had to prepare special treatment for him.  Meanwhile, he was trying to focus on snapping his chains.  Mand'e had gagged him again, so he was trying the mental connection.  Loki knelt up and tilted his head back.  He could feel the energy flowing through him, but he wanted to control it.  Center it so he could break his chains.

Finally, when Loki thought he could not take the ebb of it anymore, the chains fell from his wrists and hit the floor with a clank.  Loki stood up and ripped the gag and held his hand out towards the door.  “Veera me!” he commanded.  The door burst open, flying across the hallway and hitting the opposite wall.  That alerted the guards, but they were not prepared for the onslaught.  A frozen tide turned them into statues.  Loki walked by them, tapping on the ice as he went.  Several more guards appeared, but this time, Loki created a wall of flame.  They were disintegrated in seconds.  Loki ran past them and up some stairs.  However, at the top, was Mand'e.

“Trying to escape your fate, little ice prince?” she asked.  Loki’s eyebrow went up when she called him that, but he did not let it stop him.  She sent a blade like ray of light down on him, just as he summoned a wind to lash out at her.  The light was defeated by the wind and Mand'e was blown backwards.  Loki came slowly up the stairs, a fireball ready in his hand.  When he reached the top, he found Mand'e lying on her back.  A gash was across her chest.  It had come from her own light attack, which Loki had successfully turned on her.

“What is the future cursed Vanir?  What do you fear?” Loki asked as he stooped down to her level.

Mand'e gasped and started choking on her own blood.  When Loki went even further down, she tried gripping his throat, but he caught her hand and then looked her in the eye, waiting for her response.  “You will destroy the Nine Realms.  You’re greed and desire to be greater than your brother, will be the ruin of all,” Mand'e said.  Loki’s lips became a thin line, but before he could make a comeback, Mand'e’s head fell back and she breathed her last.  Loki dropped her hand and then stood up.

“Well, I’ve had enough of here.  Mortaan signe!”  He disappeared and then reappeared outside the walls.  When Loki opened his eyes and saw the army of Asgard before him, he started to chuckle.  Odin and Thor approached him with joyous but confused expressions on their faces.  “Oh, did somebody miss me?” Loki asked and then he smirked.
