Everyone made a move to stand up, but Loki waved his hand and they all froze. "Loki! What is the meaning of this?!" Thor asked as he tried to break his brother's magical grip on him.
"It's revenge, like I said. Not on your president. He has no idea who he's in bed with. But I do, and I will pay her back," Loki said.
"How did you know the consultant is a woman?" Coulson asked. Loki shrugged and walked around, avoiding everyone. As he passed the last person between him and the exit, he pulled a device from his pocket.
"You're all going to sleep for a little while now. This is a pulsator, made it myself. Now, I'm pressing this button," Loki said and as he did, everyone's eardrums were filled with this paralyzing, high pitched scream. "In fifteen seconds, you'll be unconscious. In 30 seconds, you'll be dead from scrambled brains. Just thought you would like to know the particulars," Loki remarked as he watched them all falling, their hands over their ears.
"You bastard!" Clint said as he sank to his knees.
"You'll thank me later," Loki said. Finally, all of them were unconscious. Loki closed the pulsator, put it away, and shifted into Fury. He created an illusion of Coulson, and walked out of Avengers Tower.
Steve was starting to wake up, when he felt a hand on his shoulder shaking him. He looked up and saw Natasha sitting next to him. "He's alive. We all are," she said to Tony, who was leaning against the kitchen counter.
"Yay team," Clint said darkly as he cleaned the blood from his ears. Bruce was sitting mutely at the table, while Fury and Coulson were on their phones, trying to find Loki's location.
"He took off looking like us, but the pilots say he had them fly him to a deserted area outside the city. They went back the moment we called them. He's not there!" Coulson said. The Avengers looked at each other. Where could Loki possibly have gone?!
