The first man charged, swinging the cudgel over his head. Loki waited until he was almost on top of him, before he stepped to side. His foot went out, and the man wound up on the pavement, his face in the garbage. Another man attacked Loki, but Loki turned, grabbed him by the throat, and lifted him off the ground. He threw him into three other men. All before he dodged a pike that tried to stab him in the back. He took hold of the shaft and broke the wood with his elbow. When Loki turned around, he drove the pike into the eye of the Frenchman. He fell over and twitched violently, before finally expiring. Now, Loki straightened up and faced the rest of them. They cowered from him in fear.

"Now listen to me, you pathetic, worthless, mortal scum! I've just been separated from my family, and I will not see them again for twenty years. My fuse is very short, and my anger easy to rouse. I suggest that you run for your lives and never look back!" They all obeyed immediately, leaving the men who were hurt behind. Loki looked at the first man, the one who had started everything. Gripping him by the throat, he shoved him into a wall. "What is going on? Where am I? And why did you attack me? Also, don't lie. I can tell when people are lying," Loki said, placing a finger in a rib and beginning to push. The Frenchman cried out in pain, and immediately began to divulge.

"You're in Paris, monsieur! We are the free people of France, rising up against the cruel aristos who would keep us enslaved. This is the revolution. We attacked you because all aristocrats must be arrested, tried, and executed for treason!" he said, squirming. Loki made a face and growled in disgust. What nation did that to the people who were the only ones smart enough to rule?! Loki let go of him like he was a disease, stood up, and wiped his hands on his vest.

"Well, let me be a lesson to you. Don't just go attacking people in the street. It's unhealthy," Loki warned him before he walked away. As he walked along, he took in the screaming, chaos, and death that was around him. So this was his mission? Bringing these people back to order? That would be very hard, since they seemed so dead set on plunging themselves further and further into anarchy. Loki turned around and saw the tall buildings in Paris and straightened up. "This is my task. The one you have given to me, Father. I will do it. But, you never said I couldn't have fun while doing so!" The banished Prince of Mischief laughed.
