Loki continued to run through the hallways, until he reached a grove of trees and twisted bushes. He dived in there and sat down, breathing hard. His fingers went to the side of his head where he felt the blood, which had not crusted. Loki crawled to a little stream that ran in the grove and began to wash the side of his face. He soon felt the gash in his head and winced at the pain. Loki continued to clean until he heard loud voices approaching his hiding place. Loki glanced down and saw that his blood was in the water, and the water was flowing in the direction of the voices. Loki suddenly seemed to imagine himself halting the bloody water and freezing it. His hand went out and he began to mutter magical words. The water slowly began to freeze and overlap.
