"Nagpapatawa ka ba?"sagot ko sa kanya sabay tawang-tawa naman sila Toni.
"Tumawa ka ba?"sabi ni Agnes.
"Ha. Ha. Ha."sagot ko sa kanya. "Basta, I mean, Charlie is --"
"What, boring?"
"Hoy grabe ka talaga Jamantha!"
"She's boring Pat! Look at her, she's very uptight, she's very boring. I don't even know if you have similar likes. Baka nga kahit hmm... music selection di kayo magkasundo eh."sabi ni Jam sabay uminom siya at nag-isip. "Passion, I'm not even sure if you both share the same passion."
"Eh so what if we don't? Opposites attract nga di ba? That gives us more things to talk about, because we share different things, we share different thoughts, mas marami kaming mapapagusapan."
"Yeah but when you get excited with something, they won't get excited as much. And ang corny nun. Don't you want to be with someone na pwede mo makakwentuhan with the same things and of different things kasi pwede rin namang you still have differences at pwedeng pag-usapan? So why not find someone who would share the same passion with you, AND, AND, talk about different things as well."
"Hindi naman natuturuan yung puso eh."sagot ko then I took a drink.
"Oof."sabi ni Jam. Natawa lang si Toni.
"Grabe Pat, do you still like Charlie until now?"
"Ano ba namang tanong yan, oo, siguro, I guess." She scoffed.
"Oo, Siguro, I guess."sabi ni Agnes habang nagbibilang siya sa daliri niya. "Those three words don't convey the same meaning Pat. Which is which?"
"Oo."sagot ko. Natawa siya.
"Wow grabe."sagot ni Agnes sabay sumubo ulit siya. "Can't believe you're still waiting for her after all this time."sabi ni Agnes while she was chewing.
"Makapagsalita ka akala mo naman ako lang yung may hangups."sabi ko habang inuubos ko rin yung nasa bibig ko.
"Wait, wait."sabi ni Agnes sabay uminom siya at lumunok siya. "May difference yun."
"Hm? What is?"
"I am not waiting for Raisa."
"Hay nako Agnes, if I know, if given the chance, babalikan mo rin yun si Raisa."
"Pat, chances are created not given."sagot niya tapos uminom ulit siya. "Well, for our case at least."
"Then why not create your chance?"
"Alam mo, pag tapos na, hindi na dapat binabalikan."sabi ni Toni.
"Cheers."sabi ni Agnes sa kanya then she raised her can para makipag-cheers kay Toni. Tapos sabay silang uminom and Agnes was just staring at the beer cans in front of her.
"Pero hindi nga natuturuan ang puso."sabi ni Agnes quietly.
There was then this silence among the four of us. We were just quietly listening to each other's breaths and chewing.
"Hindi nga natuturuan ang puso. Kaya para sa mga tangang katulad mo."sabi ni Agnes then she raised her can para makipag-toast sa 'kin.
"Grabe ako lang?"
"Para sa mga tangang katulad mo at katulad ko."sabi niya. Then I raised my can as well.
