"Wait lang guys, let me just walk Pat outside."sabi ni Agnes tapos sumama siya sa 'kin sa labas.
"You didn't need to walk with me."
"Ano ka ba, it's dark out here and it's unsafe na mag-isa ka lang mag-aantay. And it's okay, hindi naman 'to abala."
"Wait lang ah. Hindi ko alam kung nasa'n sila eh."sabi ko kay Agnes tapos kinuha ko yung phone ko and tinawagan ko sila Mama pero hindi sila sumasagot. Kaya I just texted them. Pagtingin ko kay Agnes namumula na siya.
"Aji, you're sure you can manage ah?"
"Yes wifey, don't worry. I'm okay."
"Give me your phone."
"Why?"
"Basta."sabi ko sa kanya pero binigay din naman niya. I dialed my number sa phone niya. I realized na wala nga pala kaming number ng isa't isa. Messenger lang. But then again, pag walang data si Agnes hindi niya ako maco-contact.
"There."sabi ko sa kanya sabay binalik ko phone niya. "I saved my number. Text me when you get back sa condo."
"Speed ah."sabi niya.
"Hay nako. Eh kasi, iinom inom ka eh alam mo namang magdadrive ka!"
"Wifey, I know my tolerance and I can manage."
"Agnes please? Just for tonight, can we not argue about this? Text me when you get home."
"Okay. Relax." Tapos sakto naman na nagpark sila Papa sa harap namin ni Agnes.
"O they're here."sabi ko tapos binaba ni Papa yung bintana niya.
"O Agnes, andito ka rin pala. In case you're not busy, you might want to visit us bukas? Para hindi ka naman mag-isa sa condo."
"Oo nga naman. Dun ka na lang sa bahay. Please?"sabi ko sa kanya.
Sana pumayag siya.
Sasagot na sana si Agnes pero sakto namang binusinahan si Papa ng kotse sa likod niya kaya sumenyas siya na he will drive further down para lang di siya nakaharang.
"So paano Agnes? Text me, okay? Don't forget!"
"Yes wifey. I'll text you."
"Be careful okay?"
"Yes."
"Seatbelts ha. And stop drinking na ha."
"Yes wifey. I would."
"Don't forget to message me when --"
"Pat, stop worrying. I will okay?"
"Don't forget ah. Please? For my own peace of mind. Pagdating mo ng condo, don't forget to --"
"Wifey."sabi niya tapos hinawakan niya yung kamay ko.
"Stop worrying about me. I'll get home safe. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Sige na, they're waiting for you. Ingat ka okay?" I nodded.
Then she suddenly kissed me sa cheeks.
