"What time did you get home?"
"Uh... 12-ish. I can't remember."
"See you didn't text me."
"I did. Pero tinulugan mo ako."sabi niya. I grabbed my phone and may text nga siya.
• Wifey, I'm already in the building.
• I can't get in. My key's not working.
• Nevermind. I'm in the wrong floor. 😶
"Woo. Galing! Kaninong unit yung binubuksan mo kagabi? The owner must have freaked out." She shrugged.
"I don't know. But it was quiet so I assumed no one's home. Swerte na lang din."
"Ayan sige inom pa."
"I'm not drunk... I'm just... tired and a bit pre-occupied."
"Why? What were you thinking? Are you okay?"tanong ko sa kanya kasi mukha siyang distracted.
"Yeah. Nevermind. Anyway."
"Sure?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. Kain tayo? I'll make you breakfast."sabi ko sa kanya then I rolled out of bed and naghilamos lang ako bago ako bumalik at hinila ko na si Agnes sa kusina.
Some people would actually just listen kasi they are being forced into conversations and they just wanted to be polite, pero hindi ganon si Agnes. She was really listening and she was very much engaged. I smiled.
No wonder my parents find her charming. Cause she is.
