"So alin dyan ang favorite record mo?"tanong ko sa kanya.
"Hmm.. marami akong gusto eh. But I guess ang favorite ko is this one."sabi ni Agnes then she pulled out a record and nilagay niya dun sa turntable.
We both sat down sa kama niya and just listened. Nagulat ako na Ikaw at Ako ni Johnoy Danao yung music. I've heard of it before pero never really tried to understand the lyrics.
"Wait, I didn't know he released a vinyl for that album?"
"Yeah, he didn't. But I met him before and he found out that I collect vinyls and basically, niregalo niya yan sa 'kin. I like it kasi, no one else has a copy of it." She smiled. Napangiti na lang din ako.
"Naniniwala ka ba na music can paint visuals?"sabi ni Agnes.
"What do you mean?"
"Like when you listen to a song, parang you always have this image in your head. Parang film scoring pero without the film."
"I think it can."sagot ko sa kanya.
"Anong naiimagine mo when you listen to this song?"tanong ni Agnes. I tried listening but I can't seem to paint a picture.
"Now? Wala eh. Or maybe when I listen to it more."
"Talaga? Ako kasi I can imagine a couple in an old house dancing to this music. Eyes closed, heads slightly resting on each other and just swaying to it."
"Alam mo, siguro nga you really are an old soul trapped in a 27-year old body." Agnes laughed.
"Baka ako nga lang. Ewan ko. I just keep seeing it when I listen to it."sabi niya. Maiksi lang yung track so tumayo si Agnes at inulit niya yung track.
"Sayaw tayo?"sabi ni Agnes.
"Ha? Bakit?"
"Kasi sabi mo wala kang visual for the song eh. Sayaw tayo para next time when you listen to this song, you will now have an image of two friends, in a semi-old room in Baguio, dancing to this."
"Hindi ako marunong sumayaw."
"Ako rin naman. G?"sabi niya tapos inabot niya yung kamay niya.
I just smiled and took her hand.
"Oh well. Why not?"
