But when I finally calmed myself, I placed my head on Agnes's shoulders and I guess both of us were just staring at the distant city lights. Agnes took my hand and she was playing with my fingers habang nakasandal yung ulo niya sa 'kin. I smiled. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, pero bigla akong gininaw kaya I rubbed my hand across my arm.
"Giniginaw ka?"sabi ni Agnes. I just nodded. She took off her jacket and she wrapped it around me tapos she wrapped her arms around me too.
Posible pala yun 'no? To hide yourself away from the world? To remain happy in the silence? Hindi ko 'ata maalis yung ngiti ko. Pero nararamdaman ko yung sarili kong heartbeat and I guess it was too quiet that I can hear it pulsating.
"Agnes."
"Hm?"
"Seryoso."
"Anong seryoso?"
"Gusto kita."
"I mean, I don't know up to what extent or to what degree, if there's even such a thing, but I like you. I like seeing you play, and I like just watching you."
Agnes smiled and somehow nag-aantay ako ng punchline galing sa kanya. Kasi she had this playful smile na alam mong aasarin ka niya eh.
"Yan ba yung tinatawag nilang happy crush?"tanong ni Agnes. I shrugged. "Well, hindi naman masamang magka-crush sa'yo di ba?"dagdag niya.
"Masama lang yan kung hindi totoo."sabi ko sa kanya. Natawa siya.
"And why wouldn't it be true? Madali naman magka-crush sa'yo wifey. I know you're this feisty person and you're always competitive and I know you're trying to come across as this very strong-hearted girl, but I can see through you. I can see how soft you are and how kind you are. And I like you for that. And I'm pretty sure na hindi lang naman ako yung may crush sa'yo."sabi niya. I smiled. Ma crush ako ng crush ko ma.
"Pero sana kahit maraming nagkakagusto ako sa'yo, sana may chance naman na paunahin mo 'ko sa pila."
Parang bigla akong nabingi sa mga sinabi ni Agnes. Why is it that all of a sudden, parang tumahimik yung paligid and all I can hear is my own heartbeat? Why am I palpitating?
"Pero alam mo Aji, kapag nakikita kita, I don't know, you just make me happy."sagot ko sa kanya. "Happy crush nga siguro." I don't know how to react sa mga sinabi niya kasi kinikilig talaga ako. Agnes suddenly looked at me and smiled.
"You make me happy too."
