Within minutes of the alarm activating, the small dot that could be seen in the distance charged forward. Crashing with an extremely loud bang into the silver barrier. An enraged roar that filled the citizens and warriors with terror echoed throughout the city. Its source was a five foot long reptilian beast. Blood red eyes glaring murderously down at its feeble prey standing on the top of the wall. Opening its mouth again to expose its long, sharp fangs, it cried out. Announcing the Wyvern Brigade's presence. Similar roars rang out in the horizon as its allies responded to its call. Gasps of shock and fear escaped the residents and visitors of Western City as dozens of black dots appeared. Speckling the once cloudless sky.
"One. Two. Three- F***! Just how many are there?" exclaimed a knight trembling in his armor.
While he spoke, the emergency alarm continued to blare. The enemy had arrived. Below them within the city streets, orders began to be shouted to the frightened citizens. One which stood out much more than others.
"Everybody! Calm down! Move according to your guide's instructions! We will get you to safety!"
Several people glanced down in time to see the young lady of the Henituse Household rushing to action. Dressed in her leather training armor while commanding the scared masses. The aura of a noble flowing out of her. Just like her parents and older brothers. Awe, pride and respect filled those who had been trembling just moments ago. Restrengthening their resolve to fight and protect their home, the knights turned back to face the monstrous beasts. Their hands readying to unsheathe their weapons. To strike down the very threat to their peace.
To the warriors' horror, each of the rapidly approaching wyverns charged forward and rammed into the shield with their large, scaly bodies. Attempting to break through it. Shades of gray, grayish-green and red colliding with the holy silver light.
"I-It's going to break," whimpered a young spearman.
Those who heard his words couldn't help fearing the same thing. At least until the blood red hair of their commander caught their attention from the corner of their eyes. Instantly, a wave of calm, peace and hope flowed through the flustered mortals. Baffling those who did not know the youth's true identity. The few who did secretly clasped their hands together in reverence.
"Wait-"
"What the f***?"
"Oh my Gods!"
Shock filled everyone when the very beasts they feared started to instinctively retreat with every step the deity took. As soon as he reached the center of the Northern wall, they had managed to retreat back by over 100 meters. Each one was trembling under their riders. Even the mutant who was triple the size of its comrades. Confusing the majority who saw these beasts' actions.
Murmurs came from those warily watching the wyverns. Their gazes soon traveled to the very person who these entities appeared to fear. Just who was their first young master to terrify such powerful and intimidating creatures? Was this a feat that even a human could do? Or was this an ability he had been given by the Gods? No one dared to speak. Each mortal holding their breaths in wait for the majestic existence's next actions.
Extremely long blood red twisted in graceful braids draped down his back towards the earth below. Contrasting against the intimidating black military uniform. Behind him stood multiple people whose identities were still a mystery to the majority of the citizens of Roan. Each one donning a similar attire. Just as the 20 years old turned towards the enemy, a cloaked person quietly found their place at his side. A familiar mechanical voice drifted into his ear.
"We're ready."
Suddenly, a rough breeze blew past them towards the wyverns.
