Waves crashed against the Roan Kingdom's northeastern shoreline. There the Ubarr territory's liege stood enjoying the cold ocean breeze. Next to her, her daughter was cautiously watching the gathering nobles from their Kingdom's various factions. Neither spoke while they patiently awaited the arrival of the most breathtaking existence they had ever met. Darkness covered the naval base around them. Hiding them from view from any potential enemies. However, unlike the usual silence, the port was quite lively today.
"Viscountess. Incoming!"
All attention focused on the now glowing magic circles. With a quick, bright flash a man dressed in armor appeared. His gaze kept flitting around them in obvious anxiety. With a professional smile, the Viscountess strolled over and reached out her hand in order to ask for a handshake.
"Welcome, Viscount Lekan."
Forcing a cough to hide his nervousness, the nobleman accepted and shook her offered hand.
"Ahem. Yes. It's nice to see you again.
Without saying another word, he scurried over to where the other former members of Marquis Ailan's faction had already gathered. Not a single greeting was exchanged between them. Each one attempting to blend in with the rest of the group. Somewhat grim or serious expressions on their faces while they carefully examined the naval base. Even though they could barely make things out in the darkness, they could see the numerous ships stretched out before them. Then there were the soldiers who stood in perfect formation around them. Revealing just how much they had been training in preparation for their upcoming battles. It was obvious to them all that they and their former faction had fallen behind. In fact, their own strengths and efforts were puny in direct comparison. Meaning that esteemed person- the youth who could even make wyverns quiver in fear- would probably not even notice their presence. Just recalling the battle from the day prior caused their hearts to race in excitement. Especially since he would soon arrive.
After a couple of minutes, the video communication device within one of the Viscountess' aides hand started to flash. As it did, the impeccably dressed man shouted.
"Incoming!"
Blinding radiance caused everyone to shield their eyes. Once it had faded, a large number of silhouettes could be seen standing atop the teleportation circle. Swiftly, the matriarch of the Ubarr Household approached the crowd and politely greeted the people standing at the front.
"Welcome, Knight Captain-nim and Mage Captain-nim."
A simple nod came from the leader of the First Brigade of the Royal Knights. His eyes burned with silent anticipation as he searched for the people he desired to meet the most. Of them, the sword master and the supreme commander stood out the most. Never in his life would he have expected to witness such talented battle prowess from such young individuals. Regrettably, he had not noted the redhead's potential sooner. Had he done so, there was a chance his abilities could've been properly honed under his guidance. Would they have had a second swordmaster if he had? More importantly, he needed to find a way to recruit both lads into the Royal Knights.
Surprise and increased intrigue filled the nobles who had heard the Viscountess address a robed woman with an unfamiliar title. Mage Captain. Did such a role truly exist within their kingdom? They could see tens of people wearing similar robes behind her. Each one covering their faces as if to hide their identities. This was the First Mage Brigade. Composed entirely of the best mages that the Crown Prince had gathered. Today would be the first time its existence was revealed since its creation. Although only a small number of people knew that the woman currently commanding them was not the true leader of the mage brigade. No. She was merely filling in the captain's spot for Rosalyn who was currently dealing with matters on Breck's side.
