"Ha? Sorry. Ano ulit yung sinabi mo?"

At that moment, I was confessing and she was watching the fireworks display. She was smiling when she asked me that question but I didn't bother repeating what I said. I'm not sure if she was just pretending or she didn't really hear my confession. "I like you", that was what I said. After that night I didn't see her for a long time. She was going to study in Manila. I thought I wouldn't be able to see her, but after 7 long months there she was in her training uniform with her hair tied in a ponytail. We're teammates by the way.

It was so ironic the first time I got in a training session with her, she accidentally kicked my face and I think that's the time I had feelings for her. Of course, I was caught off guard for about 5 seconds "Woah, this girl knows how to kick." was the only think that kept running on my mind for the whole session.

I have always admired her in all her games. She plays fair. She befriends her opponents. She loves the kids in the team. She loves the rain. She loves one particular movie. She respects everyone. She's weird. She loves mixed martial arts. She loves to swim. She loves everything that's not girly. And me, I love everything about her. But we can't be together. It's against the rules.

She was always this unassuming girl that it seems like she didn't sense the hints I keep on dropping. She really treats me as a friend. Just a friend. But I don't mind, as long as I can take care of her and be her confidante, I'm fine. Throughout the previous school year, I have always been the one who listens to her rants, her happy crushes and her plans in life. I think I'm getting the hang of this set up. Call me stupid or what but I'll wait for this girl.

To my favorite person, I'll always be here for you. No matter what happens, I'm just a message away.
